Bangkok with Sunee

Arrival

1

We arrived in Wutthakat at the Noiset residence on May 7th already struggling to stay cool in the oppressive Bangkok heat. In the beginning, Sunee stayed inside her AC'd room most of the time with little interaction. She wasn't eating well. Her spirit improved quickly though. We all stayed here together for most of the first week.

Jessica carries groceries through the dimly lit garage where the family home is nestled. Bananas for Sunee and Coke for us.

1

Taking a taxi to Bangkok Hospital in Dusit. Our first visit with Sunee to get chemo -- this is during her first cycle of treatment. Kiran is loving not having a carseat. No seatbelts back there either.

1

Watching hospital workers shop outside.

1

Hydrating after a trip to Pantip Plaza, Fashion Mall, and the insanity of Pratunam where we dodged motorsai's coming head-on amongst throngs of people.

1

Kiran's lone Pratunam find. About 200 Baht.

Sunee finally emerges.

1

First weekend in Bangkok. Eating lunch before heading to Amphawa Floating Market. As we leave, Sunee is visited by a monk -- she seemed very happy to have him there.

Eating tong yord (round egg yolk tart) for the first time and loving it. This kid has always refused to eat egg prepared in any way -- little does he know.

1

We spend our second week at Siri Sathorn Hotel in Si Lom near Sala Daeng BTS station. The strong natural light throughout our flat is very welcome.

After lunch at the hotel restaurant. Sunee and Jessica watch Peter, Paul, and Kiran, who've just met, play around the pool.

Jacob visits toward the end of our second week and rents a house in Bang Rak via AirBnB. We are just down the alley in front of the Robinson's on Charoen Krung Rd., which is near the Saphan Taksin BTS station. This is where we stay for the final leg of the trip except for the last few days.

Second weekend starts by visiting Asiatique bordered by Charoen Krung Rd. and the Chao Phraya River. We head there by boat nearby our house.

Bangkok's tallest Ferris Wheel, at Asiatique, seen in the distance. Nobody would ride it with me.

Always the ladies man.

No visit to Bangkok is complete without a trip (or two in our case) to Chatuchak.
